The Patron of the church Saint Nicholas shelters fishermen and seamen. The church is in the center of Brighton and its ten old bells are unique. The oldest surviving part of the chruch is the Norman front, the nave with its arches and columns date about 1380 and the rood screen is an impressive carving in oak.
