Comedy Festival (Brighton)
4 to 19 October
The Comedy Festival is Brighton’s funniest annual event. During the two weeks, the best British stand up comedians will make over 30,000 people roll in the aisles. For the twelfth time, the Comedy Festival will outdo themselves with the best acts in live comedy. The crème de la crème of standup comedy will entertain the crowd of Brighton.
The line up so far includes some of the biggest names in comedy such as: Tony Law & Lee Nelson, Stewart Lee, Alexei Sayle, Jimmy Carr and Russell Kane. This big line up will be performing on the stages of the Brighton Dome, Corn Exchange, Studio Theatre, Komedia & The Old Market. With over 70 performances across 16 days, the city really will be awash with laughter.
Beside the big stand up comedians, the Comedy Festival will introduce attendees to the next generation of talent. The Festival has teamed up with Komedia and Jill Edwards Comedy Workshops to present the inaugural Squawker Award. This Award rewards a relatively new comedian or group for their hard work and skill. The winner will receive a cash prize, as well as a spot at one of the Festival’s ‘Best of the Fest’ line up shows.
The festival is always a sellout. With all of the great shows on offer, seats are first come first served, so book your tickets now. Costs for a ticket range between £10 and £20.
