Cine-City Film Festival

14 November to 01 December

Cine-City Film Festival returns for its 11th edition with a wide mix of premieres and previews, exhibitions and installations, treasures from the archive, live soundtracks and artists’ cinema. Running for 18 days across a dozen venues, the festival celebrated its landmark anniversary by looking to both its own future and that of a host of emerging film-makers.

Cine-City has grown in both status and ambition over the years. With guaranteed crowd-pullers such as Savage Witches (Daniel Fawcett and Clara Pais), Montparnasse (Mikhaël Hers), Do You Love Me Like I Love You (Iain Forsyth and Jane Pollard) and Brighton Shorts 1 & 2 by various directors.

This year, Cine-City has a major exhibition dedicated to the work of the legendary Czech surrealist, Jan Švankmajer, who is best known for dark, surreal visions and macabre comedy. Combining live action, puppetry and a rich range of animation techniques, he is widely recognised as one of the most original and influential film-makers in world cinema.

With animated movies, late-night screenings of horror movies and much more, Cine-City has something for audiences from all backgrounds, tastes and ages!
